Forum Rules & Guidelines

Postby deagle » Wed Mar 09, 2005 3:38 pm

*Note - This is a dynamic document which continues to grow with our forum.
All rules and guidelines may change without notice.
Anyone found to be incompliant of these rules or guidelines may be removed from the forum and or have posts deleted.

Usernames - the following may NOT be used when creating usernames:
-Defamatory or derogatory names or remarks
-Profanity
-Website addresses
-Email addresses
-Company names (with exception of site sponsors or advertisers)
-Exceeding 15 characters

*By registering, you agree not to impersonate speedjunkie.ca members or moderators. And not to create more than one username with the intent to disrupt discussions or deceive members.
*If in doubt, please contact admin@speedjunkie.ca for further assistance.

Stay On Topic
When posting a new topic, please select the forum that best relates to the subject matter of your topic. Redundant topics are a waste of space and are considered spam. If you cannot find a place to post your information or feel that a new forum section should be made, please send and email to admin@speedjunkie.ca with as much information as possible.

Opinions Are Like...
Our members represent a wide variety of individuals with similar interests. When joining in discussions you can expect to come across persons whose ideas, opinions and beliefs may be different from yours. Please approach such encounters with tolerance and an acceptance of others opinions and beliefs.

STOP YELLING!
When posting a new topic or replying do not use the CAPS lock. It is hard to read and is considered yelling. It is, however, fine to use CAPS or bold to highlight main points.

Language
No, we're not the language police.
Yes, you will find foul language and rude or inappropriate comments.
If you are seriously offended by the language please remember - they're just words. And, you have a choice not to read any further.
A note to all you cusin' hillbillies - please keep the profanity out of the topic title (subject header) - some of us read this site at work.
The owners/operators of this site cannot and will not be held responsible for foul, offensive, or inappropriate language.

Nudity
Yes, you will find nudity on this site.
No, it is not a porn site. However, from time to time individuals may find it necessary to share a picture that some might find offensive.
If you must share pictures with nudity or lude conduct please be sure the picture is not showing full front nudity (please, no male or female genitalia).

If your post contains nudity, you MUST include "NWS" or "Not Work Safe" in the subject header (topic title). Many people enjoy checking this site from work - we don't need anyone getting in trouble.

It is absolutely illegal to post kiddy porn, animal porn, etc. That's sick and wrong. Find another place to be crazy because we're all full.

The owners/operators of this site cannot and will not be held responsible for foul, offensive, or inappropriate images.

Copycats
Copyright infringement is illegal. Never post an article in its entirety. When posting copyrighted material, please use small sections or link to the article. When posting copyrighted material please give credit to the author in your post.

Signatures
When images are used as signatures, the image should not be larger than 400 pixels wide x 150 pixels high. The idea is to keep them small and not overwhelm the page. Commercial advertising or product sales is not allowed in signatures. Web site addresses that advertise a company, website, or in any way promote gain for any entity other than a paying sponsor will not be permitted in or as the signature.

Spam
No repeat posts with the same text should be posted in different forums

Video Hosting (to host = to make available online for everyone to see or download)
Speedjunkie.ca will NOT provide web space for individuals to host images/video/misc media. This practice was tolerated with our previous version, mostly because I ran my own server and space and bandwidth was not a concern.
If you absolutely must have a video or other form of media hosted please contact me at admin@speedjunkie.ca to make arrangements.

Cross-Linking or Cross-Forum Posting
Cross Forum Posting/Spamming is against the rules. Speedjunkie.ca staff may do this from time to time with important material only. If you have something you think is extremely important and should be posted across multiple forums, please ask the Site Administrator to see if it can be posted in the News section for you.

Advertising & Commercial Posting
Speedjunkie.ca is provided as a source of information and a common place for people with like interests. Advertisers and sponsors support and contribute financially to make this site available to you. This support would not last if we allowed non-paying members to post commercial messages, thus undermining the paid advertising of those that make this site available.

Advertising and promotion of products & services is not permitted unless you are a paying advertiser or sponsor, or unless permission is granted by the owner of this forum.

Any post, topic, or statement whereby a company or business makes an offer in return for financial gain (including within signatures) will be treated as advertising and therefore will be moderated or removed as needed. No person, affiliated with the company or not, will post such advertiments on a company's behalf.

The owner of this site reserves the right to delete any post that is deemed in violation of the commercial posting rules.

For more information on how you can advertise on this site please email admin@speedjunkie.ca

Seeing as folks are bumping this thread back up on the rules and guidelines, I'll use the chance to voice an ongoing issue that I have......

When people post a new thread in the Classified section, please take your time to watch which topic that you put it under. Every day I come on here and move between 3-5 threads a day to their proper section. :smack:

If you're selling something, place it under the proper topic in the classifieds...... if you're looking to buy something.....place it under "Wanted" in the classifieds. The "wanted" section covers anything that you're looking for.......all the other sections are for items for sale.
